The Defense Lawyers Association of Wyoming (DLAW) exists to strengthen and support Wyoming’s civil defense bar. Membership is more than a dues payment. It is a practical way to stay connected, keep learning, and contribute to a strong and fair civil justice system across the state. Here are a few of the key benefits of joining DLAW:
  • DLAW connects and empowers Wyoming’s civil defense bar to share knowledge, elevate standards of practice, and strengthen the field of civil defense statewide. 
  • DLAW provides FREE monthly Continuing Legal Education.
  • DLAW promotes excellence and fairness in Wyoming’s civil justice system.
  • DLAW’s website offers a member directory and other information.
  • DLAW advocates on behalf of the civil defense bar, both through its members who hold elected office, and through direct contact with elected leaders. 
    • DLAW unites Wyoming’s civil defense bar through education, knowledge sharing, and social and professional connections. 
    • DLAW holds one annual meeting each year to bring members together for approximately 11 hours of Continuing Legal Education credits and great social time.
    • DLAW offers an email-listserv to communication with other members.
    • Membership support is vital to the organization's continued leadership to ensure a balanced, fair approach in Wyoming courts and in the legislature




    DLAW Membership Levels

    Attorney - First Year of Practice

    Attorney - Second Year of Practice

    Senior Member - Attorneys who have been engaged in the practice of law for thirty (30) years or who are sixty (60) years of age or older.

    Young Lawyer - Attorneys who have been admitted to the bar for 3-5 years.

    Government Attorney/In-House Attorney - Attorneys employed by government entities and/or as in-house counsel for corporate or other entities. (discounted membership rate available)

    Emeritus - former Wyoming attorneys who are now retired from the practice of law but, while practicing were members of DLAW (membership available at no charge)

    Attorneys within the same firm - bundled rate available for two or more attorneys within the same firm.
